Here's a great paragraph from last week's homework:
I am a good student at St. Anne because I am creative, intelligent and dependable. Being creative is all about using your imagination. I fell that I am creative because I wrote a story about the big bad wolf and the sticky socks and read the story to the class. I am intelligent because I can read and do math. Dependable means that I can be counted on to do the right thing. I am dependable because I can work alone and stay on task. St. Anne is a school where it is easy to be a creative, intelligent and dependable student.
Weekly Paragraph- Let's Talk About the Blog
Students are to write a paragraph expressing their feelings about doing homework on the blog.  Is it easier, harder, the same?  Do they forget/remember to do it more often? Do they prefer it to paper?  They must be sure to give reasons for their answers.

This Week's Homework
LanguageWeekly Paragraph- Education Week- You have worked hard all year in grade three! What are some of your best characteristics that make you a good student? Are you responsible? dependable? intelligent? creative? athletic? Describe three of the characteristics (qualities) that you have that make you a good student. Give at least one example for each. Remember to add an effective opening and closing sentence for your paragraph.

Now here is an example of a very good paragraph written for last week's homework.

On Wednesday, April 20, 2011 we went to the Museum of Nature to celebrate Earth Week. It was awesome! My favourite exhibit was the sea creature exhibit because of the MASSIVE blue whale, a fake mini submarine and ship and a game! I also liked the rocks and minerals exhibit because there were BEAUTIFUL rocks and minerals! Some things I learned were: which way sea mammals moved their tails, how some dinosaurs make noises with their heads and much more! I enjoyed the Earth Rangers presentation because we got to see real animals. I think I would recommend this museum for kids my age because it’s a good way to celebrate Earth Week and they can learn a lot of stuff about nature.Reading Response- Read the poem "Caterpillar" by Christina Rossetti.

Go to the reading response section and answer the questions about the poem.

Caterpillar

Brown and furry
Caterpillar in a hurry,
Take your walk
To the shady leaf, or stalk,
Or what not,
Which may be the chosen spot.
No toad spy you,
Hovering bird of prey pass by you;
Spin and die,
To live again a butterfly.
